He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Taplin and Helen Taplin (Weber); his sisters, Barbara Passehl and Patricia Gresenz (Jerry); and his stepson Louis Mertens.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Themer; his stepson Richard Mertens (Rebecca); his son Kenneth Taplin, Jr.; his siblings, Tom Taplin (Ellen), Lawrence Taplin (Red), Dick Taplin (Nancy), James Taplin and Nancy Packett; and his brother-in-law Lee Passehl.
