He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Blum and Iva Blum (Mehlberg); his siblings, Dewey and Donna; his brother-in-law Marlin; and his nephew Kevin.
He is survived by: his former wife Diane Hanke; his wife Mary M. Blum; his children, Richard Blum, Juli, Jeremy (Brenda) and Joshua (Amanda); his stepchildren, Doug Korth (Sue), Todd Korth (Melanie), Barb Keelan (Patrick) and Pam Anklam (Joe); and his grandchildren, Jaylyn, Jackson, Jessalyn, Cale, Scott (Alicia), Ryan (Kristina), Jennifer, Nicole (Michael), Joshua, Beth Tyler (Bryce), Kyle, Zach, Jacob and Kathy. He is also survived by 13 Great Grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
