He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Nelson and Bertha Nelson; his wife Marie Kritzer; and his sister Eleanor Norton. He is survived by: his children, Bruce (Debbie) and Carol Jaeckels (Bob); his grandchildren, Carl Nelson (Sara), Nick Nelson (Leah), Mary Fischer (Jim Baumgardner) and Anne Fischer; his great grandchildren, Michael Fischer (Misty), Adriana (Garron), Caleb, Chloe, Corbon and Christian; his great great grandchildren, Mehki Fischer, Marcus Fischer and Mason Fischer; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Brooks and Howard Ollman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
