He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Sumner and Flora Belle Sumner (Peterson); his brother Tom Sumner; and his niece Teresa Sumner. He is survived by: his former wife Patricia A. Pettit; his wife Mary Paulson; his children, Michelle Sumner, Shari Callaghan (Cary) of Chippewa Falls, Edward Sumner of Chippewa Falls, Richard Sumner (Tina) of Loves Park, IL, Kathleen McFarlane (Tom) of Cloquet, MN and Joseph Sumner (Carla) of Eau Claire; his stepchildren, Michael Paulson of Lake Tahoe, NV, Tim Paulson of Chippewa Falls, Jeff Paulson of Chippewa Falls, David Paulson (Lori) of Menomonie and Sue Eissens of Rockford, IL; his brothers, John "Jack" Sumner (Audre) of Eau Claire, Dave Sumner (Loann) of Fall Creek and Ken "Skinner" Sumner of Chippewa Falls; and his close friend Bob Meurer. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Bob can be given to Holy Ghost Catholic Parish, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
