She was predeceased by: her parents, Valentine Kuechenmeister and Eleanor Kuechenmeister (Ryder); her husband John "Jack" Thornton, Sr.; her son Mark; and her siblings, John, Val, David, William, Richard, Lawrence Kuechenmeister, Joyce Corrigan, Josephine Burkett, Barbara, Jean Kuechenmeister and Eleanor Sande.
She is survived by: her children, Matthew of Chippewa Falls, John Thornton, Jr. of Chippewa Falls, Nancy Thornton (Rick Zillmer) of Altoona, Sandra Winrich (Denis) of Chippewa Falls, Mary Kay Else (Derek) of Dover, NH, Theresa (Jesse Roettger) of Jim Falls and Catherine Mercer (Kurt) of Cadott; her daughter-in-law Kathy Thornton of Chippewa Falls; and her niece Ellen Olson of Chippewa Falls. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
