He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McVinnie and Beulah McVinnie (Sorenson); his wife Joan C. Krumenauer; and his siblings, Willie, Don McVinnie and Eunice Crandall.
He is survived by: his son David McVinnie of Chippewa Falls; his sister Jean Schymanski (Mike) of Chippewa Falls; and his sister-in-law Judy McVinnie of Chippewa Falls. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
