He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Sr. Eystad and Phyllis Eystad (Thornton); his wife Jean Rasmus; his brothers, Harry Jr. and John; and his grandson Jeffrey M. Eystad.
He is survived by: his children, Paula Peterson (Wayne) of Chippewa Falls, Melissa Eystad (Jim Mercier) of Hudson, WI, Hjordi Van Ausdal (Michael) of River Falls, WI, Jeffrey A. Eystad of Hudson, WI, John Eystad (Joanne) of Chippewa Falls and James Eystad (Doris) of Plainfield, IN; his grandchildren, Kristian Peterson (Julie), Stephanie Gallagher (David), Bethany Robinson Clark (Justin), Ali Tobin (Doug), Courtney Peterson, Andrei Quiros Nunez, Hector Rodriguez, Elise Eystad, Hannah Eystad, Nathan Eystad, Matthew Van Ausdal and Emily Van Ausdal; his sister-in-law Faye Barton of Fountain Hills, AZ; his pet Duffy; and also Westie. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
