He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Newman and Marie Newman (Erdman); his sister Kathleen; his half-brother LaVern Erdman; and his granddaughter Olivia Newman.
He is survived by: his wife Cecilia Simon; his children, Timothy Newman (Rene) of Virginia, Jeffrey Newman (Ellen) of Minnesota, David Newman (Lauren) of North Carolina, Mary Newman (Jim Carlson) of Chetek, WI and Kathy Garcia (Daniel) of Eau Claire, WI.; his grandchildren, Danny Garcia (Samantha), David Garcia, Eric Newman, Jessica Newman, Jaci Newman, Elizabeth Newman, Ryan Newman and Clara Newman; and his brothers, Gary Newman (Marlene) of Chetek and Michael (Leah) of Bruce. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to the Pioneer Village Museum in Chetek or the Chetek Food Shelf.
