He was predeceased by: his sons, Floyd and Lonnie; and his brothers, Leon 'Deacon', Roger, Howard and Ronald 'Bill'.
He is survived by: his wife Nellie Joan Ganoe (Settling); his children, Greg (Gina), Karen Wortman (Dan) and Pamela Portsmouth-Leyton (Andrew 'Porty'); and his grandchildren, Kayla, Stephanie, Mason, Matthew Wortman (Ali), Andrew Wortman (Emily), Kristine, Timothy, Maximilian, Oliver and Quint. He is also survived by three Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Vern's memory may be made to The American Cancer Society.
