He was predeceased by: his parents, Matt Peter and Sarah Matson (Jensen); his siblings, Lloyd Matson, Ardell Molitor and Beatrice Merrill; and his son Bruce Matson.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Matson; his children, Valerie Hanson (Larry), Brian Matson (Ruth) and Jolene Polosky (Rich); and his daughter-in-law Carol Matson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many other family and friends.
Memorials may be given to Eureka Baptist Church.
