He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Sylvia Quaas and Elmer Arthur Quaas; his brother Neal Quaas; and his son Jeffrey Allen Quaas. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Quaas; his children, Suzanne Caldwell (Timothy) and Brian; his grandson William Caldwell; his sisters, Marilyn Harmening (Edwin), Valeria Heidtke (Reuben) and Eileen Loewe (Bob); and his sister-in-law Pam Quaas.
