He was predeceased by: his sister Joy; and his grandfather Doug Sorenson. He is survived by: his parents, Matthew K. Oda and Tamara L. Oda (Sorenson); his siblings, Krystin Bergstresser (Matt) of Colorado, Nicole Pitino (Kevin) of Hawaii, Tara Oda (JP) of California, Grace Oda (Willy) of Wisconsin, Jack, Colter Bergstresser and Arthur Pitino; his grandmother Janis Sorenson of Cedarburg; his aunts and uncles, Vicki Styka (Todd) of Mantitowoc, Derrick Sorenson (Julie) of Oconomowoc, Scott Oda (Marlene) of Hilo, Hawaii. and Diana Whealon (Ed) of Shawano; his cousins, Jeffrey Styka (Ann), Jared Styka (Melanie), Jenessa (Zak), Graham Gast, Anne Sorenson, Kamie Oda and Worden; and his grandmother Worden.
When covid closed down Portland, David returned to Cedarburg where he enjoyed being back in his hometown working with familiar faces at The Anvil and Stilt House.
