He is survived by: his children, Kathy Schwartz (Eugene) of Glenbulah and Scott DeRuyter (Judy) of Oostburg; his grandchildren, Becky Schwartz of Stevens Point, Jenny Gideon (Jon) of Franklin, Caleb and Evan DeRuyter of Oostburg; his siblings, Edith Beernink, Ralph DeRuyter (Lynda), Althea VerVelde (Allan) and Phyllis Parrish; and his brother-in-law Ron DeSmith (Marty). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
