He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Fischer and Helen Fischer (Boerst); his parents-in-law, John and Frances Short; his brother-in-law Bob Westgor; his grandson Jackson; and his niece Megan Short.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Fischer; his children, Joanna Leach (Benjamin), Josh Fischer (Angela) and Jordan Fischer (Sara); his grandchildren, Ellie, Blakely, Leo, Landon and Natalie; his sisters, Sandy Lotto, Marlene Westgor and Jolene Fischer; and his pets, Barley, Izzy and Jax. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
