He is survived by: his former spouse Kay Meyer; his wife Noreen Wentz; his children, Tim Cota (Nora), Troy Cota (Leslie) and Michelle Knesebeck (Rick); his stepchildren, Deb Wentz, Dan Wentz, John Slimp and Duane Wentz (Beth); his grandchildren, Kathryn Wolf (Brian), Hannah Knesebeck, Chandler Knesebeck, Christina Berg (Brian), Ashley Cota Smudde (Andy), Erica Miller (Ryan) and Brian Cota (Brianna); his great grandchildren, Adrianna Atkinson, Cameron Cota-Vaughan, Scarlet, Delilah and Fiona Berg; and his brother David Cota (Karen). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
