He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Gumieny and Dorothy Gumieny (Heidger); his parents-in-law, Robert and Alice Derry; his brother Dennis; and his grandson Drew.
He is survived by: his wife Jayne Derry; his children, Mina Gumieny (Rick Schwoerer), Dan Gumieny (Tina Hanson) and Kristen Olson (Jay); his grandchildren, Donny Gumieny (Sam), Kyle Pawelczyk (Morgan), Derek Gumieny (Hannah), Daniel Jr. Gumieny, Wade Schwoerer (Erin), Brooklyn Schwoerer, Colby Schwoerer, Scarlett, Hannah and Ella Olson; his great grandchildren, Aurora "Squirrel" Gumieny and Dixie; his siblings, Doug Gumieny (Carol), Ed Gumieny (Barb), Susie Prey and Carol Sue Blawat (Jeff); his close friends, Kevin and John; and his nephew Adam. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gruetzmacher Funeral Home (108 E Main St, Gillett, WI 54124).
