He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schildgen and Louise Schildgen (Vogt); his wife Stella; his son Roger; his grandson Jacob; and his brothers, Francis, Leo, Donald and Firmin Schildgen.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Schildgen (Deen) of Berkeley, CA and Jim Hochhausen of Cassville, WI; his daughter-in-law Darlene Schildgen of Glen Haven, WI; his close friend Mary Huser; and his grandchildren, Ben, Jamie, Lincoln, Anna, Matt, Jenny, Jeff and Jayson. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
