He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Schmitt and Viola Schmitt (Albrecht); his daughter Sarah Schmitt; his stepfather Robert Lenz; and his stepsiblings, Jim Lenz and Sally Petro.
He is survived by: his daughters, Katie Schmitt, Corrie Jape (Christopher) and Emily Schmitt (Damian); his granddaughters, Mindy, Ella and Abby; his brothers, Russell (Kathy), Raymond (Bernie), Roger (Caroline), Randy (Lori) and Robert Schmitt (Sue); his stepsiblings, Susan Scheer (Lawrence) and Jon Lenz (Joanne); and his sister-in-law Cindy Lenz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Regan's name.
