He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo Papendorf and Elwirt Papendorf (Schwan); his wife Janice Meisner; his grandson Ethan; his sister Beverly; his brother-in-law Ed Elandt; his brother Gordon "Bud"; and his siblings-in-law, Darohl Papendorf, Evan "Butch" Stuhr, Art, Diane Meisner and Kathy Meisner.

He is survived by: his sons, Tommy (Lisa), Jim (Stacy) and Mike Papendorf (Ann).
