She was predeceased by: her parents, Johannes Hartung and Mathilde Hartung (Herdel); and her son Douglas Schmidt. She is survived by: her son Michael (Becky Schmidt) of Lansing, MI; her husband Gene W. Schmidt of Camp Douglas; her sons, Henry Schmidt (Cindy) of Holt, MI and Daniel Schmidt of Lansing, MI; and her sisters, Elsie Smith of California and Thea Duffield of South Carolina. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
