He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVern Stancer and Violet Stancer (Markhardt); his sisters, Della Gorsuch (Emerson) and Betty Gorsuch (Bill); and his nephews, Dale and Craig.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Sams; and his children, Jeff Stancer (Carla), Cynthia Stiemsma (Steve), Kathryn Lewandowski (Gary) and John Stancer (Jo Ann). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and cousins, niece, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
