He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Vries and Nina De Vries (Tamminga); his brother Harris De Vries (Theresa); his brothers-in-law, James Boomsma and John Pothof; his father-in-law Howard Alsum (Harvey Vande Zande); and his brother-in-law Glenn Alsum.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy De Vries of Cambria; his sons, Stephen De Vries (Lesley) of Nolensville, TN and Michael De Vries (Kailyn) of Reedsburg; his granddaughters, Mia, Scarlett, Carmen and Hazel De Vries; his sisters, Justine Boomsma of Randolph and Pat Pothof of Randolph; his mother-in-law Lois Vande Zande of Waupun; and his sister-in-law Shelley Wiersma (Kevin) of Cambria. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
