He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Najbrt and Geraldine Najbrt (Geist); his nephew Jeramie Najbrt; and his brothers-in-law, Gordon Dahl and Walter Mitchell.

He is survived by: his siblings, Emily Dahl, Louise Sadlovsky (Elmer), Douglas (Patricia), Christine Mickelson (Jim), Gloria Hangartner (Mike) and Darlene "Pudge" Mitchell.
