With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Richard Dean Basting of Butler, Wisconsin, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Richard Dean left this world on November 14, 2024 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Sarah; his parents, Walter Basting and Emma Basting (Greeley); and his siblings, Doris Shampo, Betty Lemke and Walter Basting.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Basting (Moritz); his children, Matthew Basting (Jennifer), Nathaniel Basting (Shaun) and Katherine Ryan (Joseph); his grandchildren, Mackenzie (Nathan), Nicholas, Joycelyn, Chloe, Norah and Joseph; his great grandchildren, Talon and Faelene; his sister Kathy Reinke; and also Dick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (2450 Atwood Ave, Madison, WI 53704). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 12:01 PM at the same location.
