She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Clarence "Fred"; her children, Christopher Proffit (Erin), Frederick "Mike" Proffit (Jane), Marguerite "Maggie" Proffit and Stephen Proffit; her grandchildren, Abigail, Cole, Ian, Finn Proffit and Frederick; her siblings, Barbara Schultz (Truman), John Unrath, Mary Jo Braatz (William), Katherine Anderson, Richard Unrath (Sally) and Christine Mittig (Klaus); and her friends, Karen, Carl Rauen and Michelle Bergstrom. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Froedtert and the Medical College of WI Cancer Center.
