He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Gehl and Marion Gehl; his wife Rosalie; his children, Brenda Gehl, Denise Grzona (Robert), Kenneth Gehl (Crystal), Amy Jelacic (Paul) and Robert Gehl (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Timothy Terry, Nicholas Terry (Samantha), Danielle Terry, Gabrielle Grzona, Jayden Olsen, Mason, Layla Gehl, Abigail Wilson (Ryan), Alexander, Madeline, Clara Jelacic, Matthew, Alexis and Eric Gehl; his great grandchildren, Theodore Terry and Mason Gumieny; and his siblings, Dennis Gehl (Sharon), Sharon Zak (John) and Wendy Steffan (John). He was also cherished by other relatives and friends.
