She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerrit Hasselman and Wilma Van Haaften Hasselman; her brother-in-law Kenneth Van Gent (Esther) of Pella, Iowa.; her husband Edward Van Gent; her siblings, Eileen Hessing (Elmer) and Wayne Hasselman (Norma); and her siblings-in-law, Guysbert, Esther Van Wyk, Carl and Janice Henning.
She is survived by: her children, Elissa Webster (Nevin) of Burnett, Elona Van Gent (Greg Harrison) of Ann Arbor and Elliott Van Gent (Diana) of Tustin. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Ebenezer Reformed Church of Leighton, Iowa or First Reformed Church of Waupun, Wisconsin.
