With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Engelking of Burlington, Wisconsin, who passed away on February 15, 2023 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Wilhelm; and his sister Dianne. He is survived by: his son Ryan; his mother Marrianne; and his niece Mellisa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America (gspca.org) or Take The Lead (takethelead.org/donation) organizations as Rob felt strongly about both of these.

Chicago Schutzhund Verein wrote a sympathy message

“Rob was a true gentleman. A compendium of dog knowledge which he often shared.. He was kind and generous to our club, the Chicago Schutzhund Verein, which trained at his Kings Kennels for more than a decade. It was a sad day when he closed the kennels due to failing health. Having just learned of his passing, we are greatly saddened and send our condolences to his mother Marianne and to his companion Gillie..”
