He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignatius Schaeffer and Marie Schaeffer; his sister Christine Jaworksi; and his granddaughter Lydia Schaeffer. He is survived by: his wife Ann Carney; his children, Richard Schaeffer (Sharon Henningfield), Thomas Schaeffer (Sally), AnnMarie Stapleton (Cameron) and Elizabeth Ledbetter; his grandchildren, Sawyer, Devin and Grant; and his stepgrandchild Courtney.
