He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Hess and Earl Hess; his son David Hess Jr.; his brother-in-law Donald E Davis; and his sister Pam Hess.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his daughter Dr. Gretchen Hess; his grandchildren, Tavia, Tasha, Kasia and Kaian Turzanski; and his sisters, Shera Eddy (Kent) of Littleton, CO and Lou Ellen Benter (Ed) of Fox Lake, WI. He is also survived by 6 nieces and nephews.
