It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Jean Sorensen of Burlington, Wisconsin, born in Norfolk, Nebraska, who passed away on February 8, 2024, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. R. M. "Doc" Sorensen; her parents, Harry V. Gillis and Maggie Belle Gillis; her sisters, Geraldine Barritt (Marvin) and Marjorie Faulkender (Clyde); her in-laws, Martin and Bertha Sorensen; her brother-in-law Laurel Sorensen; her niece Joanne; her nephew Keith Martz; her great-nephew David Martz; and her grandson Branden R. Berger.

She is survived by: her children, Melody Kelter (Tom), Jeffrey Sorensen (Bea) and April Tellier (Paul); her grandchildren, Thomas "Tad" Sorensen (Melissa), Nicholas Sorensen (Jenny), Shelby Zeier, Joshua Tellier (Mary), Benjamin Tellier (Erin), Michelle Wavra (Adam) and Ethan Tellier (Catherine); her great grandchildren, Tatum, Rowan, Declan, Nyah, Cadence and Corvin Sorensen; and her grandchildren, Sean, Lauren, Nathan, Katelynn Zeier, Willa Jean, Zora, Foster, Matilda Tellier, Mila and Adelyn Wavra.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be using any memorial donations to make a contribution in honor of mom and dad at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
