Slater (Brooklyn, Wisconsin), born in Madison, Wisconsin, who passed away on December 9, 2019, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex Slater and Celia Slater (Swenson); his siblings, John Slater (Doris), Ralph Slater, LeRoy Slater and Ellen Hurtado; and his brother-in-law Bill Farr.

He is survived by: his wife Katherine Burkeland; his pet Suzie Q.; his children, Diana Lunsford (Kent), Deborah Biddick (Terry), Doreen McReynolds, Julie Wagner (Michael Cumming), Scott Slater (Kielee), Ricky Slater and Ryan Slater; his grandchildren, Brianna Libick, Stephanie Lunsford, Kory Lunsford, Beau McReynolds, Mark Wagner, Katie Wagner, Michael Wagner, Kelly Wagner, Jace Slater, Bryce Biddick, Blake Biddick, Danni Slater and Parker Slater; his great grandchildren, Jayden Barnhill, Alex Barnhill, Kaydence Lunsford, David Libick and Jaxon McReynolds; his sisters, Patricia Christiansen (Archie) and June Farr; his sister-in-law Joan Slater; and his niece Michelle Slater. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
