She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth and Mildred Smith (Loftus); her husband Ralph F. Bergeland; her son Russell; and her brothers, Eugene Smith and Lowell "Bunny" Smith.

She is survived by: her family, Smith Lumber and Brooklyn Implement; her children, Tracy Bergeland of New Glarus, Reid Bergeland (Wendy) of Brooklyn, Taylor, Katie and Eliot Bergeland (Michelle) of Brooklyn; her grandchildren, Grace, Ava and Claire; and her sister Randi MacLeod (Sonny) of Brooklyn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
