Virginia Tretow Obituary
Virginia "Ginny" (Lee) Tretow, wife of the late Robert Tretow was a much loved 100-year-old matriarch in her family and a celebrity of the Brookfield Senior Center. She loved to be with her children, grandchildren, and her friends. She had a quick wit and was quite the jokester.
She became a regular at the Senior Center later in her life attending exercise classes and enjoying lunch with friends. There were many fellow seniors that watched out for her over the years.
She and her late sister Marilyn grew up in the West Allis area with their mother Loretta and father Joseph Lee. After attending secretarial school, she worked in her dad's business. She met "Bob", and they were married in 1952 and remained together for 42 years until his death.
Ginny enjoyed various crafts. She and Bob would often work as a team with Ginny doing the detailed work. The two of them also filled their weekends driving around the area finding many treasures and bargains at rummage sales. She and Bob had property in Door County and loved weekends at the lake with family and friends. Card playing was a must. Ginny and Bob enjoyed taking their boat and went cruising on lakes and rivers with fellow members of their boat club.
Friends, neighbors and family watched over her in her later years. This allowed her to stay in her own home until she was over 100 years old, which was one of her most important wishes.
She is survived by her children Karen Kraase and Mark Tretow. Grandchildren Chris (Jenny) Kraase, Carrie (Jay) Swanson, Randy Tretow, Shari (Jason) Roos, Alicia (Craig) Bultman. Great-grandchildren Tyler (Megan) Kraase, Caleb Kraase, Ryan, Josh, and Kendall Swanson, Brason Roos, Hanna and Cayden Bultman, and great-great grandchildren Ardyn, Malyk, Brooklyn and Liberty as well as other family and friends.
Services for Virginia will be held privately with family. She will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park with her husband.
