Darlene Rose Norman, formerly of Brookfield, found peace and eternal life on December 12, 2023 at the age of 88. Loving mother of Christine (Brian) Bruseth, Douglas (June) Norman, and Craig (Evette) Norman. Treasured grandmother of Michael Bruseth, Steven Bruseth, Brianna (Joey) Reddin, Sydney (Todd) Sickler, Calvin (Megan) Norman, Jesse (Emily Breitsprecher) Norman, Lorelei Norman (Ricky Hibbert) and Rachael Norman. Precious great-grandmother of Michael Bruseth Jr. Dear sister to Russell (Janice) Johnson, Virginia (Jack) Witherby, Paul Johnson and Daniel (Claudia) Johnson. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Edgar, cherished daughter Christine Bruseth and parents Violet (Husman) and Harry Johnson.
Darlene spent much of her teaching career at Milwaukee Public Schools as a reading resource teacher, opening up the magical world of reading to countless MPS elementary students. She was active in the Milwaukee Genealogical Society and a devoted member of the Milwaukee Evangelical Covenant Church.
Visitation on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, 5-7pm at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home at 10121 W North Avenue, Wauwatosa. Visitation Thursday, January 4 at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 7727 W Center St, Milwaukee, WI 53222 from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am. Private entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Friends of World Mission (Evangelical Covenant Church) or Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation appreciated.
