She was predeceased by: her parents, Abe DePagter and Hildegard DePagter (Rabe); her son K. C. Schmidt; her sister Jeanette VanAkkeren (Don); and her sisters-in-law, Marion Feld (Ray) and Lois Gregory (Bud).

She is survived by: her husband William "Bill" Schmidt; her children, Kyle Schmidt (Jill) and Connie Kraemer (Jim); and her sister-in-law Joan Reisinger (Herb). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
