He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian W. Schmidt and Ruth Mae Schmidt (Horkey); his brother Donald; and his siblings-in-law, Carl and Alaine.
He is survived by: his son Robert Schmidt (Ronda); his grandchildren, Tony Schmidt and Cheryl Millard (Jared); and his great grandchild Christian Millard.
