He was predeceased by : his parents, Alvin Ruff and Marie Ruff (McQuillan); and his brothers, Jim Ruff and Tom Ruff (Joanie). He is survived by : his spouse Marcelene (Brandlin); his sons, Gregory Ruff (Katherine) of New Richmond, WI., Michael Ruff (Barbara) of Chippewa Falls, WI. and Jason Ruff (Marci) of Lakeland, MN.; his grandchildren, Emily Ruff of Erie, CO., Ryan Ruff (Katie) of Fitchberg, WI., Carley Ruff of St. Petersburg, FL., Tyler Ruff, Sherilyn Patterson of Lakeland, MN. and John Patterson of Lakeland, MN.; and his sisters, Donna Mays of Downers Grove, Shirley Wyent (Dennis) of Downers Grove, IL. and Linda Bielecki (Willi) of Thorp, WI.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
