He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne Steinmetz (Wagner) and Henry Steinmetz; his siblings, Marv, Kenneth Steinmetz and Marie Ruh; and his sons, Tim and Dave Steinmetz.

He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Chmelik; his children, Jeff Steinmetz (Barb) of Lufkin, TX, Randy Steinmetz (Michelle) of Chippewa, Todd Steinmetz (Jane) of Browerville, MN, Rob Steinmetz of Stanley, Michele McCarthy (Mike) of West Chester, PA, Dean (Sharon) of Stanley and Lisa Eslinger (Wade) of Boyd; his grandchildren, Joseph, Mark, Michael, Aaron, Sarah, Jared Steinmetz, Christopher, Clara Steinmetz, Sara Steinmetz, Kaylee, Lynsey McCarthy, Andrew, Nicole, Jaydn Steinmetz, Brooklyn Starck, Katelynn and Ryan Eslinger; and his sisters, Betty Smasal of Stanley, Carol Eslinger of Chippewa, Eileen O'Donnel of Chippewa and Joan William of Minneapolis. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed toward masses for Henry.
