He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. and Alice Steele (Baumeister); his brothers, Billy Steele (Beverly) and Ronnie Steele; his parent-in-law Robert Thies; and also Lois Thies (Landberg).
He is survived by: his wife Barb (Thies); his children, Stacy L. Steele (Craig Selph), Samuel M. Steele and Abigail A. Randall (James); his grandchildren, Taylor and Brandon; his great grandchild Callie; his sisters, Shirley Boyd (Bill) and Norma Fordney (Mike); his sister-in-law Karin Thies; and his daughter Tami Thies. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Janesville, whose staff were so devoted to Sam's comfort and care.
