He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Schoettler and Melda Schoettler; his wife Eleanor Sanger of Boscobel; his siblings, James Schoettler and Mary Peterson; and his brother-in-law James Larson.
He is survived by: his children, David Schoettler (Robin Orlandi) of Boscobel, John Schoettler (Janet) of Kenosha and Ann Burnett (John) of Normal, IL; and his sister-in-law Kathy Larson of Illinois. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
