She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Giese and Louise Giese (Burandt); her parents-in-law, Alvin and Gladys Schmidt; her brothers, Marvin and Leonard Giese; and her siblings-in-law, Donald, Victor Schmidt, Shirley Jacobs and Marjoryann Giese.
She is survived by: her husband Reynold O. Schmidt; her siblings-in-law, Dale, Karen Schmidt, Merce Schmidt and Al Jacobs; and her nieces and nephews, Dina Nelson (Jeff), Sherry Boreson (Mike Johnson), Steve Schmidt (Tina), Todd Schmidt (Vicki), Tim Schmidt (Jen), Melissa Zimmerman (Tyler) and Kristin Kohlstedt (Randy). She is also survived by other family members and friends.
