DeWayne A Coleman Obituary
DeWayne A. Coleman, 71, of Bloomer, passed away at Maple Ridge Care Facility in Spooner, WI on February 22, 2022, after a 20+ year battle with a brain tumor.
DeWayne was born on July 7, 1950, to Ralph and Jeanette Coleman in Rice Lake, WI., joining siblings Roger and Donna at home. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army. He attended boot camp at Fort Leonard Wood, MO where his son, Scott would also attend boot camp 26 years later. DeWayne served 19 months active duty including a one-year tour in Vietnam as a mechanic.
DeWayne loved to hunt, fish, and go camping with Karen, his beloved wife of 49 years. When he wasn't enjoying the great outdoors, one could find him watching the Brew Crew, the Packers, or NASCAR racing with a cheek full of Colby cheese he'd bitten right off the block in defiance of Karen.
Along with his wife, Karen, DeWayne is survived by his children, Julie (Rob) Rich of Eaton, OH, Scott (Ashley) of Johnson Creek, WI, and Brianne (Michael) of Chippewa Falls, WI; seven grandchildren, Billy, Bryce, Katryna, Emma, Autumn, Elijah, and Adelyn; niece and Goddaughter, Heidi Erickson (Jeff) of Barron, WI; plus, several nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Jeanette Coleman, brother-in-law Geno Good, loyal dog Pepper, his sister Donna, his brother Roger, and parents-in-law, Tony and Betty Steiskal.
Per DeWayne's request there will not be a traditional funeral.
A service with military honors will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 11am in the chapel at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, near Spooner, WI, where he will be forever in the company of his fellow Veterans.
Please join our family from 1pm to 5pm at Back 40, East of Bloomer, WI on Highway 64, to celebrate DeWayne's life.
