He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl "Bud" Nelson and Ruth Nelson (Tranberg); and his siblings, Mike Nelson and Ruth Ann "Tuti" Nelson. He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Swanson (Jeff), Bethany Nelson-Gallo (Janine), Cala Poppe (JC) and Dana Wolfe (Ryan); his grandchildren, Rayna, Jaren, Salem, Brody, Reagan, Elliot, Miles and Reece; his brother Rick Nelson (Lisa); his in-laws, June, Rita (Bruce), Lynn (Mike), Peggy (Gary), Butch (Pam), Mark (Heidi), Betsy (Mike), Brian (Rachel), Marie and Linda; and his granddaughter Wendy Grace. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Blair-Preston Fire Department & First Responders, Gundersen Tri-County Memorial Hospital Foundation, and the Rita Tranberg Memorial.
