He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Gilbert and Durward Gilbert; his wife Martha Sue Hopkins; and his sister Judy. He is survived by: his children, Father John Gilbert, Julie Rider (Daniel), Lynn Erdman and Mary Golden; his grandchildren, Joseph (Theresa), John (Brianna), Matthew (Kendra), Annemarie, Ashley, Mason, Benjamin and William; his great grandchildren, Jonathan, Liam, Elijah, Clara, Caroline and Felix; and his sisters, Barb and Patti.
