He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Barnes and Elise Newland Barnes (Guenther); his brother Edward; and his son Michael. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Newland (Kizer); his sons, John (Stephanie Byrd) of Eureka, CA and Joel Newland; his stepdaughters, Carrie Maphis (Market) and Andrea Getter (Bernard) of Blair; his siblings, Rosemary Baron (Newland), Geraldine Brundle of Avon Lake, OH and Robert Newland; and his close friend Lyle.
