He was predeceased by: his wife Ida; his son Kenneth Joseph Basswood; and his siblings, Lorena Foursouls, Thorton Carrier (Yates), Saquoia Carrier, Norcees Carrier Sr. and Steve Carrier-Stevenson.
He is survived by: his children, Janice Basswood (Christopher), Greg Blackdeer (Valerie), Angel Carrier and Adam Carrier; his grandchildren, Benjamin Basswood (Austine), Jaysen Sargent, Tiana LaFortune (Darin), Isabella, Jacob, Wilbur Blackdeer and Gregory Michael Basswood; his sister Eunice Coronado; and his close friend Ernesto LaMere.
