He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Severson and Hazel Severson; his son Devin Severson (Sue) of Eau Claire; and his brothers, Duane and LaMoine Severson.
He is survived by: his wife Delores (Strande); his children, Dennis Severson (Katherine) of Plymouth, MN and Dena Bahnub (John); his grandchildren, Jarod Severson, Kyle Severson (Monica), Chelsea Smith (Adam) and Chad Bahnub (Jessica); his daughter-in-law Sue Severson; his great grandchildren, Luka Smith and Maeve Bahnub; his siblings, Dorothy Halvorson and Glen Severson (Patricia); and his foster siblings, Glen White, Larry Littlegeorge, Gale White, Cecilia White and Reta Littlegeorge.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be directed to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Black River Falls, or the Alzheimer's Association of Wisconsin.
