He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Schmelter and Pearl Schmelter; his significant other Phyllis; and his sister Joan Kroll (Milton). He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Hobbs (late Walter), David Weiland (Lori Guthrie), Cathy Prentiss (Jim), Susie Schmelter, Louis Schmelter (Leah Koppelkam), Mary Byzewski (Roger), Paul Schmelter and Holly Marchan (Dario); and his sisters-in-law, Delores Lasky and Patricia Kellner. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
