James Petersen Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Petersen of Berlin, Wisconsin, born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 6, 2023 at the age of 70. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Petersen to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Petersen and Syvilla Petersen (Funte); and his sister-in-law Barbara. He is survived by: his sister Angeline Koss (Melvin) of Green Bay; his children, Sarah (Todd Spindler), Peter, Lisa Koss, Stephen, Kristine Koss, Timothy and Michelle Koss; his brother Thomas Petersen (Susan) of Oshkosh; and his children, Paula (Bill Tellock), David and Carlene Petersen. He is also survived by great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Jim was honored by the Milwaukee Public Museum for the donation of a historically significant collection from a founding Milwaukee black family, and also by the Fort Winnebago Museum upon his donation of items he had excavated and research he had accumulated.
